2022 Winter Olympics: Beijing

About 3 thousand athletes from more than 90 countries will compete in 15 branches at the 2022 Winter Olympics, which will be held on February 4-20. In the Olympics, ice hockey, curling, figure skating, speed skating, short lane, speed skating, Alpine skiing, freestyle skiing, cross country skiing, ski jumping, biathlon, Nordic combined, snowboarding, sleigh rides, skeleton, bobsled, and luge competitions in single disciplines will be held. Salon in the heart of Beijing ice competitions, and other competitions in Alpine skiing sled with 75 kilometers to the center county skiing, snowboarding and ski jumping competitions will be held in the city of neighboring province Zhangjiakou, Hebei. 7 athletes will represent Turkey at the Winter Olympics. 6 Turkish athletes will compete in skiing and 1 in ice skating in China.



Özlem Çakıroğlu and Berkin Usta will take part in alpine skiing, Fatih Arda Ipçioğlu in ski jumping, Özlem Ceren Dursun in ski running, Ayşenur Duman and Yusuf Emre Firat will take part in alpine skiing dec. In short track speed skating, Furkan Akar will compete in Beijing. In order to protect against the spread of COVID-19, the Olympics will be held in a "closed circuit" system, where the event areas with athletes, officials, and volunteers are isolated from the city. Tickets for the opening, closing ceremonies, and competitions will not be sold at the games, while audience groups will be brought to the competitions by invitation.
